10 Ways To Get Creative With Your Wedding Guest Book

Planning a wedding is all about personal touches, and your guest book is no exception! Are you really ever going to go back and look at that old guest book with just a couple of pages filled out? Gone are the days of traditional guest books collecting dust on a shelf. In this post, we’ll explore 10 clever and creative ways to reimagine your wedding guest book, transforming it into a unique keepsake that reflects your style and love story.

  1. Use a Different Kind of Book:

Instead of using a typical guest book, get creative and use a book that is unique to you and your partner. Whether that’s a Bible, a coffee table book displaying images specific to your wedding location, a favorite novel, or a book of poems, the list of book options are endless.

  1. Telephone Audio Messages:

Using a vintage telephone to record your guests messages is a unique way to bring your guests book to life with audio recording. You and your partner will be able to listen back to these audio recordings for years to come.

  1. Photo Album:

Creating a photo album with pictures of you and your partner for guests to sign is the perfect opportunity to incorporate all of those stunning engagement photos that you and your partner have. This is also a great way to incorporate photos of you and your partner's relationship throughout the years, taking your guest on a journey through all of the different seasons of your love story.

  1. Wishing Tree:

Have your guests fill out a paper tag ornament with their name and well wishes to hang on the “wishing tree”. This is not only a sweet way for guests to show their love for the newlyweds, but also makes for a beautiful display.

  1. Polaroid Album

Having your guest take polaroid pictures to tape into your guest book accompanied with their notes of well wishes is a fun interactive way to incorporate your guests into the making of your guest book. You and your partner will be able to look back through these photos and remember all of the many people that gathered to make your wedding day so special.

  1. Envelopes:

Have your guests write their well wishes on a variety of decorative stationary to enclose in envelopes. You and your partner will enjoy opening all of these sweet notes from your guest to save as keepsakes from your wedding to look back and read in the years to come. Saving these notes in a wedding album is also a great way to preserve the many notes you received from guests.

  1. Framed Photo:

Using a photo of you and your partner with extra space around the frame for guests to sign makes for a sentimental display of you and all of your loved ones.

  1. Social Media/ Video Recording:

Through scanning a simple QR code your guest will be able to upload personal video recordings of their well wishes to a shared album that you and your partner will be able to compile into a wedding video to watch for years to come. There are also other forms of media that can be used for video recordings such as a camcorder or a digital camera.

  1. Use An Object of Sentiment:

Having your guests sign an object of sentiment is another great way to turn something special into a cherished decoration. Whether that's a coffee table, a surfboard, a guitar, or a piece of woodwork with your shared last name, there are no limits to the items you and your partner want to incorporate.

  1. Include Prompts:

Instead of having your guests sign their names with a quick note like normal, try including prompts in your guest book for guests to fill out.

Here are a few examples:

  • What advice would you give the bride and groom?

  • What's your favorite memory with the bride/groom/both?

  • What are some good date night ideas?

  • What do you love most about the newlyweds?

  • Where should the bride and groom go for their 10 year anniversary?
